The Street Fighter
These are some stills from a short film I’ve been working on
A young English guy, Lee, is being chased by a three Scottish youths (the Walker brothers) down a dark tunnel. As they are about to set upon him, an old homeless man steps in to defend the victim, and with surprising skill and agility, helps him escape.
This ageing alcoholic tramp offers to assist Lee by training him to fight, in return for a steady supply of drink. Under the tutelage of the old man, we see Lee transform from a bewildered, nervous boy, into a confident, street-smart man. He is reluctant at first, but when a gang of thugs takes the old man to exploit in their underground fighting ring, Lee must rise to the challenge to defend his mentor.
I will be posting a lot more about my involvement with this film in a couple of weeks once I have finished my degree. It has been an amazing experience and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! In the meantime… get involved!
You can help! There is a serious lack of funding available for short films and new filmmakers, but using the website www.indiegogo.com is a brilliant and easy way for people to publicise their projects, and for generous supporters of the arts to contribute and see many new and exciting works completed!
There are only 8 hours left to donate to our film, and this super talented cast and crew would be so incredibly grateful for even the smallest of contributions! Check out the link below to find out more about the project and see lots more stills! All pledges are rewarded - we have a fantastic, EXCLUSIVE trailer for you if you donate!

On behalf of the team thank you so much for taking an interest in our work and for helping us to finish and distribute The Street Fighter!

Costume for Girl in the short film, Power of the Dogs.
Again not quite done, still the beautifully embroidered stab wound to apply!
The Lanky Man costume for the short film I’m working on. Not quite finished, still a bit of breaking down and general muddy-ing up to do!
Made from charity shop and car boot sale clothes, upholstery fabric samples, and my mum’s old curtains(!)
Budget “Baddie”.
Making a patchwork/laced together leather waistcoat for the short film that starts shooting tomorrow.
Trying to stiffen the leather slightly with a water and PVA glue mix… fingers tightly crossed that it works!
Cannot recommend this shop highly enough, after these next few weeks of filming and degree show prep I think I shall treat myself to something by Michelle Chang, a fantastic New York based jewellery designer that they stock.
So great for presents too, but I’d rather keep everything for myself!
